My husband, Travis, and I love to dream together. We spend hours talking about our future goals and our shared passions. Travis would be considered the greater risk taker, while I find myself in the practical role. We make a great team.
Shortly after we were married, we bought our first investment property. We bought a distressed double in popular South Broad Ripple and began our renovation the day we closed. A quick two months later (July 2012), we had our first renters and we were on our way.
In May 2013, I unexpectedly lost my job as an account supervisor at a well-established advertising agency. Travis and I took it as a sign that it was time to open our real estate investment company – the company we dreamt about for several years. In June 2013, Rus & Rex Properties was formed.
With lots of hard work and several earth angels along the way, we had our first two flip properties under contract within the first two months of opening our business. We haven’t looked back and look forward to continuing in this business for a long time to come. We’re living our dream.
